Under the direction of Artist Michelle Reynolds, children can make 'sculptures' out of found beach treasures, assemble their own model boat, make leaf and fish 'fossil' prints, and more.

The Wilderness Traveling Museum

The goal of the Wilderness Traveling Museum is to "connect" people with the ecology of the land through a hands-on learning experience of Native American culture and natural history understanding.

The Gaia Institute couples ecological engineering and restoration with the integration of human communities in natural systems.. Through research, design and construction they explore how human activities and waste products can be treated to increase ecological productivity, biodiversity, environmental quality and economic well being.


The Nature Conservancy - Saving the Last Great Places on Earth

The Long Island 'Green Team" will tell you how to volunteer locally. Gardeners, photographers, painters, invasive species monitors, reporters and festival attendants are among those needed.

The Children’s Maritime Museum

Will be open on the ground level in The Port Jefferson Village Center. See this marvelous space where children learn to ask questions and find their own answers with hands-on experiments.
