The Long Island Seaport and Eco Center (LISEC)'s first project was to build a Bobcat for Roy Vitters. Vitters provided the plans and materials for the boat, LISEC provided the help and experience.
The 12 foot boat was constructed of marine plywood, fiberglass resin, and cloth. The construction used plans supplied by Harold "Dynamite" Payson off the website: www.instantboats.com. Betty Ann Arink, Roy Vitters, and Charles Pieroth started the project by cutting out 'lofted' patterns for the 29 major pieces in early January 2010.
The project took 11 months to complete except for coaming and hardware. The owner is moving and will finish the boat on his own.
